Laser Hair Reduction
Unless it’s on your head, “hair” is almost always preceded by “unwanted.” The desire for sleek, smooth skin has made laser hair removal one of the most popular cosmetic procedures.

Laser hair reduction has advanced significantly. Our laser system can treat nearly all skin types, as long as there is an adequate contrast between the hair and skin. Unwanted hair can be largely eliminated whether in a small area such as the face, or a large area such as the legs, thanks to this non-invasive process.
You can cut back on or stop shaving, waxing, bleaching or undergoing electrolysis thanks to laser hair reduction with no downtime and little discomfort.

It Begins with a Consultation
If you’re considering laser hair reduction, you’ll first meet with Dr. Lee. He will examine the area to be treated and talk about your goals for the procedure, as well as lay out a treatment plan.
Be prepared to share your medical history, including previous surgeries, medical conditions, drug allergies and current medications.

Your Laser Hair Reduction Procedure
Hair reduction is achieved through the use of a low-energy laser beam that is absorbed by any hair follicles that are in an active growth phase. The energy then disables the hair follicle.
Depending on how large the treatment area is, the process can take several minutes or several hours. Pain is minimal—most patients compare it to the snapping of a rubber band—so anesthesia is not typically used.
Not all hair follicles are in an active phase at the same time, so this process will need to be repeated several times to reach the remaining hair follicles.
You may experience slight redness in the area being treated or some mild swelling for a short time after being treated. Your skin will be more sensitive to the sun immediately after treatment; sunscreen is strongly recommended. Laser hair reduction will be less effective if your hair is not significantly darker than your skin.

Your Results from Laser Hair Reduction
A series of laser hair reduction treatments can steadily reduce your unwanted hair, even improving the appearance of your skin in some cases. The hair that does grow back will be lighter, more fine and less noticeable.
You can enjoy the confidence that comes from smooth, sleek skin without the pain, mess and frequency of shaving, electrolysis, waxing and other hair-removal methods.
The key to truly successful laser hair reduction is maintaining an open line of communication with Dr. Lee and adhering to his recommendations. He and his team are eager to respond to your questions and concerns and can help provide skin care to maintain and enhance your results—they are your partners in achieving the results that you seek.
